Long standing Orange County and profitable (MEP) Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, engineering firm is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer (Candidates should live in Orange County CA Area or surrounding communities.) In this role we are currently seeking the right candidate that has experience in designing Electrical systems for commercial building using AutoCAD software. The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, eager, and able to work on a variety of fast paced projects. This position can also be done in a Hybrid role or WFH “Working from home” capacity.
Responsibilities for Electrical Design Engineer
• Ability to perform work requiring independent judgment
• Knowledge of engineering principals, procedures, and code requirements
• Ability to self-perform all electrical engineering tasks associated with the project from field survey to design
• Ability to perform Drafting and engineering calculations, to coordinating with clients and other departments
• Design and specification of power and control systems, system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing
• Ability to perform engineering load calculations and Title 24 energy compliance calculations
• Ability to work with and be supported by other senior engineers for guidance and act as an electrical lead or project lead
• Ability to work with external team members including architects, outside consultants, code officials, and contractors
• Must be adaptable self-starter, able to problem solve, learn and apply new technologies with minimal support
• Ability to collaborate with team members and clients with proper documentation
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with cross disciplinary team members and clients
Qualifications/Skills
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (Professional Engineering license preferred)
• 8+ years of experience with technical lead and design experience (Especially in tenant improvement projects for office buildings)
• Solid foundation of design and drafting utilizing AutoCAD software
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with cross disciplinary team members and clients
• Effective in prioritizing and setting deadlines, while also adapting to change
• Excellent project management and Electrical Design skills
• Candidates should live in Orange County CA Area or surrounding communities
