For a leading provider of facility & security solutions based in Monterey Park CA with over 5,000 employees and has multiple offices though out the Western United States.
Job Scope:
The Claims Manager is responsible for assessing and mitigating potential risks related to worker's compensation claims. The Manager oversees the entire claims lifecycle, collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, and continuously refines the claims process to safeguard the company's financial and reputational interests.
Responsibilities and Duties of Workers Compensation Claims Manager:
• Oversees the Third Party Administrator and is engaged in the life cycle of a worker's compensation claim, from the initial report to settlement, ensuring that claims are processed efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements
• Opines on worker's compensation claim resolution negotiations, protecting the company's financial and reputational interests
• Contributes to the review process of general liability and property claims
• Proactively assesses potential risks related to worker's compensation claims and develops strategies to mitigate them
• Analyzes claims data to identify patterns and trends, making recommendations for loss prevention
• Utilizes data analytics tools to monitor, evaluate, and report on claims trends, performance metrics, and potential areas of concern
• Provides regular updates to management, highlighting any potential risks or opportunities for improvement
• Collaborates closely with other departments, including Legal, Finance, Operations, and HR to ensure a unified approach to risk management
• Builds and maintains strong relationships with external partners, including insurance providers, third-party administrators, and Risk Management vendors to optimize claims handling
• Continuously evaluates and refines claims management processes, incorporating best practices and leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy
• Stays updated with industry innovations and changes, integrating relevant advancements into the claims management process
• Generates detailed reports on claims statistics, financial implications, and risk exposure for senior management, assisting in strategic decision-making
• Ensures meticulous documentation of all claims-related information for audit and compliance purposes
Skills and qualifications for Workers Compensation Claims Manager:
• Ability to effectively support a large multi-site workforce
• Bilingual in Spanish
• Ability to Travel to though out Western United States for Workers Compensation hearings
• Working knowledge of Workers Compensation requirements in California
• Ability to develop and conduct effective claims training programs and meetings
• Skilled in project management, problem-solving techniques and communicating ideas and instructions clearly
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite applications
Minimum Education/Experience: Workers Compensation Claims Manager
• Must have a minimum of 3 years workers' compensation claims management experience with claim team supervision experience a plus
• Claims management experience in California. *Experience in managing claims being adjudicated in a California Alternative Dispute Resolution program (ADR) a plus
• Knowledge of multiple WC jurisdictions a plus
• Strong knowledge of MS Office (works, excel, power point, and outlook)
• Must be able to demonstrate project management skills
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or an insurance designation of ARM or AIC preferred

• Generous Base 80K + (Higher Depending On Experience)

• Schedule: Monday – Friday
• Hours: 8AM - 5PM

• 80 hours annually of paid vacation each year for the first four (4) years of employment + 1 floater holiday
• After ten (10) years: 120 hours, 3 weeks
